This is an 18k gold antique edwardian gypsy ring from 1904, set with a natural sapphire gemstone and two old cut diamonds, in a starburst setting. The blue is a very rich tone and looks so lovely set against the diamonds and gold. The gemstones are gypsy set, meaning they sit flush with the gold surface, which in turn, protects the stones.

The history: this ring is from Birmingham, England from 1904! In the 1700s, the British government mandated that every jeweler must mark their rings with the year it’s from, which makes this an incredible way to know all about the ring, and gives it more value! The crown stands for gold, the 18 stands for 18k, the mark for Birmingham is an anchor, and the ‘e’ places this from 1904-1905, according to the official assay office of England.
