Classic and stunning antique Edwardian gypsy ring made of 18k buttery gold. With a very slight tapered design, this ring is typical of the Edwardian era and has three exceptional old cut diamonds set into a fine quality 18k yellow gold mount. Diamonds are gypsy set with one central old mine cut diamond set in between two smaller ones. Inner band has original maker's marks (for my antique geeks, this makes me swoon).
The history behind it: this ring is from Birmingham, England from 1903! In the 1700s, the British government mandated that every jeweler must mark their rings with the year it’s from, which makes this an incredible way to know all about the ring, and gives it more value! The crown stands for gold, the 18 stands for 18k, the mark for Birmingham is an anchor , and the ‘d’ places this from 1903, according to the official assay office of England
Truly excellent antique condition.
