This is an 18k gold antique edwardian gypsy ring, set with two natural sapphire gemstones and a central old cut diamond, in a starburst setting. The blue is a very rich tone and looks so lovely set against the diamond. The gemstones are gypsy set, meaning they sit flush with the gold surface, which in turn, protects the stones.

The history behind it: this ring is from Birmingham, England from 1917! In the 1700s, the British government mandated that every jeweler must mark their rings with the year it’s from, which makes this an incredible way to know all about the ring, and gives it more value! The crown stands for gold, the 18 stands for 18k, the mark for Birmingham is an anchor, and the ‘S’ places this from 1917, according to the official assay office of England
