A stunning piece of history, this is an antique 9k yellow gold double garnet and champagne diamond ring. The garnet stones are a bit rosey pink, not dark as usual garnets.

This ring or statement piece would make an excellent gift for yourself or someone special, especially for birthdays in January, as garnet is January birthstone. It could be an alternative antique engagement ring.

Great antique condition. Slight wear consistent with age. This ring is not in perfect condition, but it is super lovely and charming!

Size: 5.75
Hallmark: slightly cut off, partial "395"

A little history: Garnet gemstones go all the way back to the early Iron Age. Significant deposits of red pyrope garnet were discovered in Bohemia (Central Europe) around the turn of the 16th century. A thriving garnet jewelry and cutting industry based on the very popular red garnets was started in Czechoslovakia in 1500. Until the nineteenth century it was the world’s largest source of gem garnets. These fiery red pyrope garnets were very popular in Victorian jewelry, often times found in the form of cluster rings. Although these are not rose cut garnets, they were very popular from the Czech Republic and often covered entire jewelry items.
