Antique 9k rose gold amethyst paste diamond Edwardian ring from Birmingham, England c 1918. This piece features an impressive central round-cut amethyst with two old *paste* diamonds on each side, all placed in a starburst setting, which are hand cut glass gemstones shaped and polished to mirror diamonds. This was commonplace in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
