This beautiful antique trilogy diamond gypsy ring is typical of the Edwardian and Victorian era and has three old cut antique diamonds set into three panels of fine quality 18k yellow gold mount. The diamonds are gypsy set with one central diamond set in between two smaller ones, with a starburst etched design. This gypsy ring is quite unique in design, with each diamond mounted on a square slab of gold. This ring is a solid piece of 18k buttery gold.
Great antique condition, band slightly misshaped but does not affect wear whatsoever.
The history behind it: this ring is from Chester, England from 1890! In the 1700s, the British government mandated that every jeweler must mark their rings with the year it’s from, which makes this an incredible way to know all about the ring, and gives it more value! The crown stands for gold, the 18 stands for 18k, the mark for Chester is wheat, and the ‘P’ places this from 1898, according to the official assay office of England
